Fifteen-year-old Violet Smith has been internet-famous since before she was born. Her mother is lifestyle influencer Vanessa Stephens, whose followers are so dedicated, they call themselves Nessies. For years, Violet has been pleading for more privacy—but now that her parents are getting divorced, she’s under even more pressure to perform the perfect life.

Violet flees Chicago to spend the summer with her uncle, who lives in a charmingly bizarre utopian community in rural Illinois, but she still can’t escape her mother’s oversharing.
